for using DigiSoft's Multi-Media Server with PictPocket Cinema
- To
start server, click on the DigiSoft Multi-media Server desktop
icon, or the MMServer.exe file from the Directory.
- The
server will run continuously until you exit from the application.
- After
you start the server, you will see a list box that contains
all files currently available on server.
- To
add new image or movie to server, click on the "Add
files" button.
- You
can select one or more image or video files to add at the
same time.
- When
you select a movie, the program detects movie size and asks
you for confirmation to "optimize it for Pocket PC".
The file can be converted it to a MOV file and the user
can use default settings or specify options for codec, size,
etc. for the movie.
- You
can check the "do not ask again" checkbox and
the program will not ask you if you want to optimize the
file for Pocket PC. If you choose "no" to optimize
for Pocket PC, the program just copies the movie to server.
- Notes:
-
You can remove (delete) selected file from server by
clicking on the "Remove" button.

You can view a selected file on your desktop by clicking
on the "View" button.

You can use the Search feature to list specific files
in a list box.

To access server files from PictPocket Cinema:
- Use
the URL specified in status line of server starting
with "http://"
- For
example, if you see a message "Server started at
http://111.222.333.444/", enter "http://111.222.333.444/"
in "Open URL..." dialog and select "As
directory" in the checkbox.
- For
advanced users:
-
All server files appear in the "files" subfolder
in the folder where DigiSoft Multi-media Server is located.
-
If you copy a file manually to the "files"
subfolder, it can be accessible on the server immediately.
- You
can add files manually by copying to "files"
subfolder.
IMPORTANT
FACT FOR USING THE PERSONAL MULTI-MEDIA SERVER:
You must have a valid operating IP address to be able to access
the server through wired or wireless connectivity, i.e., wireless
networks, wireless modem, PDA phones, etc. You may not be
able to connect to the server using a wireless modem, if the
desktop PC does nor have a valid IP address as sometimes occurs
with wireless networks and shared IP addresses.
