DIGISOFT'S reViewMD OFFERS MEDICAL IMAGING ON YOUR HANDHELD PC

DigiSoft Is Leading The World Of Pocket PC Users Into New Territory

DigiSoft recently developed reViewMD, a DICOM image viewer for the Pocket PC. DICOM is the standard image file format used in medical imaging (MRI, Cat Scan, Ultrasound). The reViewMD software allows physicians to view patient image data at the point of care and provides the mobile physician easy access to this important data even at remote locations through wireless connectivity. The physician can dictate comments or use the program's draw feature to identify key findings. Initial reviews of this software by physician users has garnered extremely positive responses.

The review of patient image files typically occurs at the source of acquisition or on fixed view lightboxes or workstations located in hospitals or physicians offices. With DigiSoft's reViewMD, the physician can access and review DICOM static and video image files anytime, anywhere — eliminating the delays associated with current methods of data review.

In addition to DICOM, reViewMD supports many other image file formats including, MPEG-1, BMP, 2BP, JPG, JPE, JPEG, GIF, PCX, PCD, TIF, TIFF, providing the user with a powerful multimedia application as well. The program also features tap and drag to pan images, zoom in, zoom out, zoom 100%, and zoom to fit, a preview bar with thumbnails, picture rotations (+90, -90, 180) and previous image (action button up), next image (action button down). Brightness, contrast and histogram equalization functionality enhances image quality. The user can even watch video or create slide show presentations with voice (.wav) file annotation. A draw program provides many tools for image annotation.

DigiSoft will be introducing an entire family of software products in March 2001 including: DICOMCourier, a DICOM image file-receiving program, PictPocket, a picture and MPEG movie viewer for the Pocket PC and its companion product for the desktop, ImagePro 2K1, that can display over 50 file formats including all flavors of DICOM. ImagePro 2K1 also features an extensive file conversion and screen capture program as well as static image and video editing tools.

DigiSoft, a Pennsylvania-based limited liability company, specializes in Windows applications for the desktop and Pocket PC. The company plans to develop additional products for both medical and multimedia applications during 2001. For more information, contact DigiSoft at: contact@digisoftdirect.com or 1-866-DigiSoft.
